Codex Session History 0.1.1

Local, incremental search for Codex JSONL sessions. The dev runtime uses PostgreSQL with FTS5-equivalent PostgreSQL full-text indexes and a pgvector-ready derived table; a small stdio MCP boundary stays on local stdin/stdout with no published ports.

Install

One-line install (Forgejo):

The dev index is private in the Compose Postgres volume. JSONL is mounted read-only at /codex; later refreshes only reparse changed files. No service port is exposed. Codex connects with docker compose -f compose.dev.yml exec -T mcp python -m codex_session_history.server.

The installer also copies the detailed MCP reference to ~/.codex/session-history/MCP.md and adds an idempotent routing block to ~/.codex/AGENTS.md.

MCP tools

search_sessions, get_session, refresh_sessions, and index_status. Search accepts query, project, status, date_from, date_to, limit, and offset.

The index is derived and rebuildable. Raw transcripts never belong in this repository. pgvector is installed and schema-ready for a measured second-stage reranker; lexical PostgreSQL search remains the authoritative v0.1.0 retrieval path.
